Congratulatory Message

If you or someone you know is celebrating a special birthday or anniversary, my office can assist in obtaining a letter from the Premier of Queensland, Prime Minister of Australia, Governor-General or His Majesty the King to mark the occasion.

How to request a letter

STEP 1

Organise a copy of a supporting document to verify the applicant’s date of birth or marriage. These documents include:

  • Birth or marriage certificate (photocopies are acceptable)

  • Passport or citizenship papers (photocopies are acceptable)

  • OR

  • Statutory declaration to confirm date of birth, or place and date of marriage. The statutory declaration should be signed by a member of the family and witnessed by a Justice of the Peace or Commissioner for Declarations. A link to a statutory declaration template can be found here or picked up at a Post Office.

STEP 2

Download and complete the congratulatory letter application form.

STEP 3

Submit the completed form and supporting materials to my office at least 6 weeks prior to the anniversary so the letters can be delivered in time.
